THE CUSTOMER

Client is a multinational technology company which focuses on e-commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming and artificial intelligence. It is one of the big five companies in the U.S. information technology industry.

THE CHALLENGE

A nationwide e-commerce leader is launching several supermarkets in the Delaware/MD/DC area. DIN was contracted through Wachter Inc. to install commercial freezer door alarms and structured cabling for several surveillance cameras.

While this project included the installation of new equipment, conduit installation was required to connect the low voltage to a control panel above the freezers in different areas of the site. Additionally, we had to coordinate with the electrical install to ensure power from electrical gang boxes lined up correctly with installed units.

THE SOLUTION

DIN provided onsite surveys to determine conduit and low voltage pathways. We coordinated with the onsite client project manager to confirm requirements and access for each site. Additionally, we used a variety of techniques to secure units to freezer door wall surfaces and ensure sensors were securely attach to door per unit specifications.

Finally, we wired up door alarms to set the length of time for strobe light and horn alarm to activate with the assistance of our Wachter project manager. This project required considerable coordination for site access, determining termination points for low voltage and facilitating electrical installation.

THE RESULT

All installations passed client inspection and received required state low voltage inspection. This retailer now has full security coverage over its inventory stored in freezer areas.

Additionally, we received positive acknowledgment for onsite professionalism, punctuality and following communication protocols for maintaining client security preferences (e.g. lock box and alarm procedures when entering/leaving building).
